You asked. Now you have to listen to me ramble. ;)

What is J2?

J2 is a site dedicated to finding all the latest news about Jonathan Jackson. I try my best to update this site as often as I can, to provide Jonathan fans with constant, uninterrupted fodder for discussion and excitement. Throughout my years in fandom, I've seen that the saying, "Out of sight, out of mind" really holds true. If there's nothing going on with your favorite celeb, then you tend to lose interest. I don't want NONE of that happening with you JJ fans now, ya hear. :)
How did J2 start?
In March of 1999, I joined my first JJ mailing list, and was positively giddy jumping up and down at all the news and tidbits I found out on it, thanks to some very very resourceful and dedicated web searchers and knowledgeable fellow Jonathan fans. My saved emails began to expand exponentially.

That September, I met two other fans that happened to go to school with me, we began to exchange emails (oh, our infamous emails), and I soon found I just had too much news I wanted to keep them up on. And so for the health of my email program and for my two friends, I started this website. It officially launched on April 9th, 2000. And so this site is dedicated to "weirdo" and "weirdo2." I love you guys. :)

Also, mucho thanks to my friend, Vivien, for giving me the idea to name it J2. :)

I had been bouncing around the idea of starting a website for Jonathan for a couple of months, but had been vacillating on the layout and structure of it. I finally settled on JUST doing news (and the minimal biography) on it. It wouldn't try to replicate all the other websites out there, and I really had no intention of trying to gather ALL the pictures out there of him to put on this site. Keep it simple, I thought. But as time went by, I started adding pages on top of pages of additional "extras" to the site. It started out as a simple one pager website; it now has well over 50 pages of news, event reviews, photos, and much more...and it grows every day.

J2 had a brief hiatus during the last part of 2001. As of March of 2002, this is now version 2.0 of J2.

How do you get all this information, and so often and quickly?
No, I don't have any secret source or anything. :) But I do have a lot of help. I scour the web daily for new info (entertainment sites, Google, and message boards galore), I join mailing lists that alert me of news, and you guys, the fans, email me with anything that you might have seen - news tidbits, scans, reviews. You know that J2 *always* wants to know it, no matter how small the mention! I appreciate it all so much, and without everyone who helps, there truly would be no site to speak of.

In the past, I've also been alerted of news and updates from various sources connected to Jonathan, and it has always been such a pleasure and an honor. Many thanks to Leon Gladstone, Eileen Grubba, Wayne Powers, Jeanine Jackson, Michelle, Jessica and Dan Angel, and Maxine. However, these sources always came to J2 on their own accord, and I do not solicit them with questions for the most part, so please, do not ask me to pass anything onto Jonathan's people. Also, despite these wonderful sources, the majority of the information found on this site is provided by the Internet and the fans.

Thanks also go out to all the webmasters who've shared information and collaborated with J2, especially Claudia from LHOW.

Can I link to J2 on my website?
Of course! And please do! It's the biggest compliment when someone puts a link up to the site. It'd be great if you let me know about your site too; I like to check out new sites, and then also I can provide a link back to you as well.
Can I use images/movies/MP3's found on J2 on my website?
First of all, please always *ask* first. For images, I will almost definitely say yes, but please ASK. I don't have a problem with people using the photos as long as I know about it, but what irks me is when I find them on other sites with no credit given or claiming them as their own. Movies and MP3s are a slightly different case because for the most part, they were made by someone else who 'donated' it to this site, but it never hurts to ask.
Is this website official?
No, this website is not official. To visit the Official Jackson Brothers Web Site, click here. The content of this website in no way reflects the opinions or endorsements of the Jackson family; they are simply one fan's take on things.

However, with that said, I will get some things directly from Jonathan's camp from time to time. For example, the Hope video is official, as is the letter to their fans. All things official will be clearly marked as so. With these things, Maria (a friend and fellow fan) has sometimes coordinated the passing along of information from the Jacksons to myself, and I thank her dearly for it.

Do you know Jonathan personally?
I get this question sometimes, and it always makes me laugh and go "I wish!" LOL. If you read my event reviews, you will get exactly what the extent of our relationship is, which is precisely "Fan" (me) and "Incredibly Gracious, Generous, Gifted, And Gorgeous Guy" (him). < g > We met on a few occassions. He awed. I alternately gushed and stumbled over what little words I could get out. ;-)
Who are you?
Okay, so I don't exactly look like that, but she's doing something I highly enjoy and wish I did more - meditation. My name's Tracy. I'm 23 years old, and am currently going to school in Los Angeles, California. I graduated from UC Berkeley in December of 2000 with a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, and am currently studying for my Master's degree in Communications Management at The Annenberg School for Communication at USC.

Hmm, what else. I am Chinese-American. I am a liberal. I am a music lover. I LOVE Aimee Mann, Depeche Mode, Gomez, and the Old 97's. I think Rhett Miller, Ilia Kulik, Josh Hartnett, and Jude Law are cute. I adore Darwin and Mendel, but the way science is seen as some sort of cure-all and all-knowing discipline annoys me. I appreciate people who think critically and not take for granted the status-quo. I can watch primates for hours. My favorite classes in college were Religious Studies, Medical Anthropology, and Asian-American Studies. I love to dance, but I hate clubbing. My favorite hangout in LA is Largo. Mean people suck. Hmm, I think that's enough.

P.S. Jonathan Jackson rocks. :-)

P.P.S. I am NOT Jonathan Jackson. Please note that all emails sent to J2@nufnuf.com and all entries left in the Dreambook will not be read by Jonathan.
