JANUARY 2001 NEWS...
01.31.01- New update on True Rights! It will be showing at the AngelCiti Film Festival in Hollywood, California February 10th at 6:30pm at the Raleigh Studios (Pickford Theater, 650 N. Bronson, Hollywood). The theater only holds 50, so be sure to arrive early!

01.31.01- PARK CITY UPDATE:

  • True Rights was a last minute fill-in at the Slamdunk Film Festival in Park City, Utah last week! It screened to a very enthusiastic audience.

  • Skeletons in the Closet also did extremely well last week at the NoDance Festival. It screened to a standing room only crowd, and was very well received. Afterwards, director Wayne Powers and Jonathan answered some questions. Wayne was asked how he got such a great cast for such a low budget. :) Jonathan signed autographs for fans as well.

  • Madison also did very well and premiered to a sold-out house. Check out this link for a diary of the film's writer on his Sundance experience.

  • Jonathan, Richard, their mom Jeanine, Will Rotunno, Meg Thayer, and Leon Gladstone all had a great time in Utah. They attended a few parties together (the Madison pre-screening, CAA, and E!) and spent a day skiing in Deer Valley. Sounds like fans of the Jackson brothers would have had a blast as well at what turned out to be a smorgasbord of Jackson brothers movies. Congrats to everyone on their well-earned successes!

01.31.01- Lots of random mentions and miscellaneous photos added to the Skeletons in the Closet page, as well as some comments from the recent Utah screening.

01.31.01- Also updated the LAMEC page with links to two more pictures of Jonathan at the event.

01.28.01- Found these pics of Jonathan over at wireimage.com:

01.26.01- Here's a blurb from E! Online about Jonathan and Richard in Park City. (Thanks, Maria!)

http://www.eonline.com/Features/Features/Sundance2001/Scoop/010124.html

Earlier, at the pre-premiere beer and tequila party for Madison, held at Main Street's Irish Camel, the crowd was so thick I couldn't get to star Jim Caviezel to congratulate him. But I did chat up Jake Lloyd, who play's Caviezel's son--and hasn't grown much since Episode One. "I'm really excited about it," he told me, before his mother pulled him away to press the flesh. "I haven't seen it yet."

Also at the Madison party were Richard and Jonathan Jackson. Although Jonathan stars in the family drama Skeletons--which may be screening here to help Artisan decide whether to do a full-scale theatrical release or a softer video rollout--the inseparable brothers are mostly in town for the outdoor action.

"We're just here to relax," said Jon. "We're skiing tomorrow," Richard added. "Tonight's the movie." But Madison costar Bruce Dern was all business: "I'm working, not partying. You have to talk to everyone."

01.26.01- Karen's made another Lucky and Liz slideshow. Get those tissues ready! *sniff*

01.22.01- FOX has cancelled the show, Freakylinks, that Night Visions was supposed to be a midseason replacement for. Can we hope we'll be able to see the episode of Night Visions that Jonathan starred in soon?

*EXCLUSIVE*
FOX Cancels FreakyLinks
TV SCOOP

Friday, January 19, 2001... After never fully recovering from a badly reviewed and poorly received pilot episode, the once promising FreakyLinks lost much of it's network's support. The show was pulled for most of November last year and upon its return has gotten virtually no promotion. Well that never works to help a show recover from a slump, and the show's ratings have gone down each week since its return. FOX has now officially pulled the plug on the show. The last episode to air will be on January 26, before February Sweeps rolls around, when I'm sure they'll have something with police or millionaires to air Friday nights.

All films are eligible for the coveted Golden Orbs Award for Most Creative Guerrilla Marketing Campaign.

Additionally, Nodance is proud to present Artisan Entertainment's "Skeletons In the Closet" starring Treat Williams ("Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead") and Linda Hamilton ("Terminator 2"), and written and directed by Wayne Powers ("Deep Blue Sea") as the closing night film. Shot entirely in High Definition video, "Skeletons In The Closet" will world premiere at Nodance, with cast and key crew members in attendance.
