7.26.00- Remember that link I posted before about Jonathan in the new Spiderman movie? (PURE RUMOR) Here's more speculation:
7.25.00- There are 3 reports and a few pictures from Réal's Gospel Hour up on it's own page now. Check 'em out! Click here. 7.24.00, 1:16am- I'll have a full report up either later today or tomorrow, but here's the skinny on what went down this weekend. For some reason, Jonathan didn't show up at Real's event on Saturday. No word as to why. BUT today (er, Sunday) he and his family was at Real's Gospel Hour and they PERFORMED! BIG TIME. We camped out all day and were the second group to get in. Can you say "no less than 5 feet away from him"?!?!? He sang U2's Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (:::swoon:::), Wounded Guide, God Candy, and some religious songs. It was *unbelievable*. But the biggest thing I took away from the whole thing is just HOW awesome a person Jonathan is. No words can describe the impact he made on me tonight. He had me in TEARS, literally. It was indeed an uplifting experience, like no "fan" event I've ever been to before. The fanbook WAS delivered, and I think it turned out pretty good, even if I do say so myself (I forgot to take pictures of it though...sorry guys). Honestly, I cannot remember what I said to Jon or what he said back to me when I gave it to him before Scarlet Road performed, but Mrs. Jackson was sitting right next to me and thanked us for making it, and said something along the lines of "A lot of work went into this. It wasn't just thrown together. It was put together by some very caring hands. Thank you." Can I just say that the sincerity and niceness (sorry, it's late. I can't think of another word right now) of the entire Jackson family simply blows me away. Simply amazing. :) So I guess this turned out to be a bit longer than I anticipated, but once you get me started talking about Jonathan, there's no stopping me (even though I've only gotten about 6 hours of sleep since Friday). I'll have plenty more details up later, once I've recovered, so I hope this'll hold y'all over for a day or two. More reports, pictures, and VIDEO to come...:-) And THANK YOU to all the girls who made this weekend OH SO enjoyable for me! You know who you are. ;o) Take it from me: Jonathan is not only an amazing actor and talented musician, but a truly beautiful person as well. 7.21.00- I am no longer accepting any entries for the fanbook. If you're desperate, you can try emailing me directly with your message at J2@nufnuf.com, but I can't promise anything. The book got exactly 100 entries, and I hope to have pictures of the final book up sometime soon. You can read the entries some people left here. Book to be delivered in about 15 hours...wish me luck! :-)

7.20.00- TV Guide Online interviews DOOL's Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip Kiriakis), who had been up for the part of the Lucky recast.
Reading for GH's Lucky was my first audition. A neighbor of mine who works in the costume department at GH and I were doing laundry and she said to me that I looked like Jonathan Jackson [who vacated the role]. She told me I should have my agent get me in there. I went in to see [casting director] Mark Teschner, who's really a nice guy. I think he liked me because he brought me back. I went to producers and was going to screen-test, but I had also gone in to read at Days and they snatched me up [first], I guess you could say.
So you're John Aniston and Lauren Koslow's son instead of Tony Geary and Genie Francis's?
[Laughs] Yes.
When Days offered you the part, was there any thought of letting GH know that you had an offer on the table?
Well, I had watched Days with my grandparents so there was a sentimental factor. Taking over Lucky would have been tough, too. Jonathan Jackson is phenomenal. The fans were so connected to him. It would have been a great challenge, but it would have been hard. Jacob Young (who was cast as Lucky) brought a fan base with him from The Bold and the Beautiful (where he played Rick).
Former GH star Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky) and his brother Richard are certainly two young stars whose careers are on the rise.
7.17.00- Don't forget to submit your questions for Jonathan over at teenmag.com. Today is the last day!
7.17.00- Réal Andrews will be hosting an Evening Gospel Hour from 6:00 - 7:30 P.M. on Sunday, July 23, 2000, in the Terrace Room of the Sportsmen's Lodge Hotel. This event is free of charge, although donations will be accepted. All donations from this event will be sent to The Ronald McDonald Camp for Good Times in memory of Réal's brother, Mark Teljeur. Seating is on a first come, first seated basis to the first 90 persons in line. For further information regarding this event please contact Linda Torrence at linda@realandrews.net
7.17.00- In our eternal quest for all the songs from TIAPH...."What Fools," by Maureen Davis, was sung during the flashback montage of Max and Molly after they broke up. It's not available for sale anywhere right now though unfortunately. Maureen has a site on MP3.com however that mentions a song being in PH.
7.17.00- From NW, an Australian magazine. June 12th edition. His name is even on the cover, but there are no pictures of him inside. (Thanks to Neil!)
7.14.00- Check out MXG Online. Jonathan is featured in their "Male-O-Meter!" And if you're registered, submit your thoughts about him and gush to your heart's content. :)
Lucky us. You filled the Male-O-Meter request box with declarations of love and admiration for the multi-talented Jonathan Jackson…and since you asked, you shall receive. Falling smitten back in ’93 when he starred as Lukas Spencer Jr. a.k.a. Lucky on General Hospital, we were glued to the screen as he survived his parents’ separation, a life threatening accident, running across the country to help a friend, and what seems like an endless string of dangerous adventures. Whew! Lucky couldn’t be a more fitting name for this daytime daredevil! But Jonathan’s said good-bye to the soap opera drama to try his luck on the big screen, and of course tip the scales of MXG’s Male-O-Meter.
Jonathan first decided to pursue acting following a family visit to Universal Studios Hollywood in 1991. His brother, Richard (of Saved By The Bell: The New Class), made the first move and Jonathan followed shortly after. Jonathan got a few commercials under his belt, including one for Kellogg’s Corn Pops, before beating out several hundred young hopefuls for the role of Lucky Spencer on General Hospital at the age of 12.
As Lucky, Jonathan not only won the hearts of GH viewers but critics, as well. In the six years he was on the show, he picked up Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 1995 and 1998 with nominations in ’96 and ’97. He also captured the Hollywood Reporter’s YoungStar Award for Best Actor in a Daytime Television Series in both 1996 and 1997.
But behind the actor and all of his awards, Jonathan is just as passionate about his music. He, his brother, dad and uncle make up a band called Scarlet Road whose songs have appeared on the soundtrack for True Rights, an upcoming indie flick starring the two brothers. “My brother Richard plays the drums,” says guitar-playing Jonathan. “Playing together is one of the things we really like doing. I could definitely see myself doing it on stage.”
7.12.00- From http://www.4filmmakers.com:
7.12.00- I've added two MP3s to the site, both from Trapped In A Purple Haze.

7.10.00- Ask Jonathan! You can go to Teenmag.com and submit your questions for Jonathan, the magazine will choose a few to ask him, and answers will be up in 2 weeks.
Jonathan Jackson is Lucky. Well, not really anymore (as you General
Hospital fans know, he left his part of Lucky Spencer last year.) But, he
is lucky in many other ways...
He's got 2 Daytime Emmy's (which he won for his aforementioned role), a
burgeoning film career (his new flick "True Rights" co-starring brother
Richard Lee, is doing the festival circuit and he's got two others "The
Smiling Suicide Club" and "Skeletons in the Closet" in the can.) a band,
"Scarlet Road" that continues to jam. (With the help of his dad, his uncle
and, of course, his sidekick and bro - Richard Lee!)
What would you like to ask busy Jonathan Jackson if you had the chance?
Well...you do!
That's right ask Jonathan anything you want...all you have to do is submit
your questions (using the form below) between now and July 17th. We'll sort
through them, pick a bunch of good ones, have him answer them for ya and
will post his responses right here on July 31st! Pretty cool, huh?
7.10.00- Upcomingmovies.com now has a page for Catch the Sun:
7.10.00- Jonathan's in the new issue of ABC SID. There is reportedly a really cute picture of Jon holding his Movieline award in it. ;o)
7.10.00- Also in Teen Movieline, in a feature on young actors who moved out on their own before being able to vote:
JONATHAN AND RICHARD LEE JACKSON

7.5.00- Here's an article written by a UCLA student who got to be an extra in TR. Brief Jon mention. Thanks to Mary for the link!
"Wanna Be in a Movie?"
It all started almost a year ago when yet to be elected President Brockman sent me an email asking, "Wanna be in a movie?"
"Uhh…What KIND of movie, Marik?" (I've always been a little suspicious of his sudden name change from "Steve" to "Marik" and this seemed like an equally dubious situation).
As it turned out, the movie was legit. Marik's roommate, Andy Trapani, had been working on an independent feature film project titled True Rights for quite some time and it had just recently commenced principal photography (shooting). A true entertainment fanatic, I was intrigued by the proposition and jumped at the chance to be in a movie.
True Rights, starring brothers Richard Lee Jackson (you'd know him from Saved By the Bell: The New Class or maybe from an episode of Ally McBeal) and Jonathan Jackson (General Hospital, Deep End of the Ocean and potential Anakin Skywalker) is the story of two "reporters" who follow around life's bizarre stories in hopes of obtaining the rights and taking it to Hollywood.
Shot in documentary (more accurately "mockumentarty") style, the film is an amusing critical commentary of a time when almost every story ends up with someone profiting from a TV movie of the week (How many versions of the "life story" of the 6 year-old Cuban child currently staying in Miami will there be, anyway?)
As Producer of the film, one of Andy's many responsibilities included arranging for the minutiae involved in each day of shooting. Straight out of Lit Club, Marik gave Andy the hot tip that I had some natural abilities for the role of "Woman with Gin & Tonic."
As it turns out, my expertise was needed to fill up a bar scene at the Formosa Café (you know the place in Hollywood—the "classic" Lana Turner scene from L.A. Confidential).
I knew "Woman with Gin & Tonic" was a highly sought after part with a lot of buzz attached to it. My competition ranged from Keri Russell to Molly Ringwald, but in the end, I think my extensive research on the role really paid off as I won the part.
Marik's role was more of a stretch as he was forced to perform as "Man with Glass of Wine." Not normally a wine drinker, he knew his acting abilities would be pushed to the limit. Luckily he was able to beat out the likes of Matt Damon (more of a Jack and Coke kind of guy) and Ben Affleck (who has only proven himself with beer thus far) to take his place beside me in the scene.
Driving over to the Formosa that morning last February I got a bit of the background on the film to help me get into character but mostly I was thinking of some of the most successful independent films of all time—the Pulp Fictions, Good Will Huntings and, of course, the Dirty Dancings—and what my role would be as True Rights took on the big studios.
When we arrived, the set was buzzing with all the anticipation and chaos of a big day of shooting. Our dressing room, conveniently located outside of the Formosa—OK, we sat in the parking lot—gave us the opportunity to meet with the crew, the actors, and, of course, take advantage of craft services (that's the munchie stand—for you film making neophytes). And most importantly, the wardrobe woman approved my clothing as "bar-worthy."
We spent the entire day in the darkness of the Formosa watching the camera adjustments, practicing our scene and, our biggest challenge: not talking (always a bit of a chore for two power gabbers), as quiet on the set was required.
As the director called action, my roommate, Sandy Choi, flung the bathroom door open in her scene-stealing featured role as "Woman Exiting the Restroom." As she floated passed the camera, we knew we were in the presence of a pro. The scene itself was fairly short, but it was actually a turning point in the movie so it required several takes to get it right.
As we cruised home on Sunset Blvd., my life as a Hollywood superstar on the pages of People magazine started to fade and my life as an MBA student in the midst of a Marketing presentation on Colgate toothbrushes seemed to be more of a reality.
Well, last week I got to see True Rights at an exclusive screening for potential distributors. It was exciting to see the whole project—from casting, through filming, editing, sound, and numerous other stages—come to fruition.
My unbiased review of the film was a major thumbs up. And my "blink and you will miss me" scene (OK—to be honest, Marik's silhouette is barely discernable and I am non-existent) was a pivotal part in the movie.
As the credits rolled, Marik and I sat back in delight as our names passed across the screen. Now, True Rights hasn't been picked up for distribution yet but at an impromptu post-screening dinner, it was apparent that big things lie ahead in my film career.
I'm a little worried about being typecast as a bar patron so I'm hoping my next role will highlight a little more of my acting range. Maybe "Woman in Library" or "Student in Classroom."
I have to go. I think I hear my agent calling…
7.5.00- Congratulations to True Rights for winning the audience award at the Dances With Films Festival!!
7.5.00- Vanessa Marcil talks about Jonathan in the new issue of Soap Opera Update:
7.5.00- The True Rights page has been updated with a few more reviews from IMDb.com.
