j2: insomnia

It was announced via the Official Jackson Brothers email list on March 23, 2001 that Jonathan has signed on to the role of "Randy" in the upcoming movie, Insomnia, starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams, and Hillary Swank. Shooting is to begin in Vancouver, Canada in April. Any information on the movie found will be posted here on this page. Congrats Jonathan!!

"Insomnia is a really well done, intriguing movie and I'm looking forward to everyone being able to see it," says Jonathan.

6/6/02: insomnia has done extremely well its first two weekends at the box office. it opened with a strong 3rd place (behind spider-man and star wars) finish memorial weekend earning $26.2 million, and $9.95 million last weekend. to keep up with how the movie is doing at the box office, check out yahoo movie's box office page. the movie has also been getting rave reviews. jonathan, in particular, has garnered many postive mentions in the reviews! congrats to jonathan and every one involved for such a critically acclaimed blockbuster success. :) amber tamblyn, jonathan's ex-costar on general hospital, also recently saw the movie and loved jonathan in it. read about it here!
5/23/02: watch for a spot on insomnia on "hot ticket" with leonard maltin on nbc this weekend. also, mtv, is doing a behind the scenes feature on the tribeca film festival this friday at 8:30pm.
5/22/02: jonathan, lisa, and richard attended the premiere of insomnia at the el capitan theater in hollywood!
5/19/02: insomnia was given "2 thumbs up!" by ebert and roeper. on their sunday show, they showed a clip of the school scene with jonathan and al.
5/19/02: jonathan was interviewed about insomnia for the tv guide channel, on the screening room, hosted by debbie matenopolous. they showed a snip of his scene with al pacino, a one question interview, a short clip of camp nowhere, some gh stuff, and congratulated him on his engagement to lisa.

5/12/02: jonathan is indeed in the hbo featurette on insomnia. he talks about the film, there's a clip, and even richard and his father are spotted!
5/6/02: bravo and hbo will be featuring behind the scenes looks on the making of insomnia. some have already seen the bravo program, and jonathan is indeed in it albeit for only a short time. no word yet if he's in the hbo one. check out the calendar for showtimes. many thanks to alicia for the heads-up!

5/4/02: the insomnia trailer has been seen all over the place recently. it's been spotted primetime on nbc and the wb, during the news, nba playoffs, as well as on mtv during the osbournes. it's also been on access hollywood and other news entertainment shows recently.

4/25/02: check out the may issue of american cinematographer for an 11 page article about insomnia. it's also mentioned in newsweek in their summer movie coverage: "First amnesia, now sleep deprivation. 4/25/02: watch out for the may 17th or 24th issue of entertainment weekly which will feature insomnia! jonathan is scheduled to be interviewed for it. also, be sure to go on over to imdb's insomnia page and click on the banner to win a trip to the premiere in los angeles on may 22nd.
